Sustainability has now become an expectancy from consumers within a retail environment.
Findings from Boston Consulting Group suggest that even throughout the global COVID-19 pandemic where
supply chains had to be re-assessed, consumers still demanded that organisations were able to demonstrate
sustainable practice.

At CCS McLays, we are proud to have provided many sustainable solutions for our valued clients.
In 2019, we introduced a circular & sustainable model for New Look's e-commerce bags. We facilitated the
collection of plastic waste from their stores & distribution centre and rather than their waste being taken to
landfill, we arranged for it to be washed, sorted and recycled, in order for it to be re-introduced as recycled raw
material pellets for the manufacture of e-commerce bags. This allowed for New Look's e-commerce bags to have less reliance on virgin polythene by up to 30%.

New Look’s Procurement Manager commented: "The work CCS McLays are completing with us regarding the
recycling, reusability and the reduction of raw material usage with our packaging, whilst bringing more
production back to the U.K. are vital factors to New Look becoming a more sustainable retailer."
