WHAT HAVE WE DONE FOR OUR CUSTOMERS?
Our key sustainability efforts were always made due to a need of our customers. Their trust and collaboration have been key to making a positive impact together.
CCS McLays helped Wasabi eradicate single-use plastic bags and non-plastic lids with which now all packaging products are recyclable. Similarly, all plastic cutlery has been replaced with wood and paper disposables. Finally, we also designed a paper dual ovenable bowl for Wasabi that is recyclable after consumer use for their ready meal market products.
During 2020-21, Superdry launched new, rebranded lightweight and recyclable ecommerce and retail bags as part of its sustainable brand reset, with the support of CCS Mclays. The company purchases approximately 8 million retail bags annually, all crafted from 100% FSC recycled certified paper. This initiative reflects Superdry's commitment to sustainability and responsible sourcing in its packaging practices.
CCS McLays helped Iceland Foods to adopt a reusable and moisture-resistant carrier bag made from Paptic® material, which is sourced from sustainably managed forests and is recyclable with paper or cardboard.
This innovative solution uses 40% less raw materials than traditional strong paper alternatives, enabling Iceland to reduce its reliance on plastic bags. By integrating Paptic® bags into their stores, Iceland Foods demonstrates commitment to sustainability while enhancing customer convenience and maintaining brand leadership in innovation.
